Red Chris
The Red Chris property is located on the Todagin plateau in northwest British Columbia approximately 80 km south of Dease Lake and 18 km southeast of the village of Iskut. Red Chris is in the Tahltan Territory and BPC Ltd. would like to thank the Tahltan for allowing us to work in their territory. Two Tahltan members were hired on our construction team and have since signed on with Imperial Metals earning full time positions. We are happy to have played a small role in this process. Construction Phase In August of 2014 BPC commenced construction at Red Chris. 60+ skilled tradesmen were employed for 18 months building the mine from the ground up. In spring of 2015 a very smooth commissioning was underway. BPC Ltd. continues to be involved on the maintenance side at Red Chris. Red Chris is an Imperial Metals property. Imperial Metals have provided logistical support, a first rate camp and travel arrangements that have benefitted BPC Ltd. employees. A safety conscious environment has been created by the Red Chris management team. Silvertip Mine JDS Silver Northern B.C. BPC Ltd. refurbished and installed mechanical equipment including jaw crusher, coarse ore bin, ball and SAG Mills, and rougher and cleaner floatation banks. In the spring of 2014 BPC Ltd. performed the mechanical decommission of the Sa Dena Hes Mine. All mechanical components from Sa Dena Hes were stored at lay-down yard in Watson Lake YK. In March of 2016 BPC Ltd. arrived in Watson Lake and began load out of mills to Silvertip located 25 km south of Alaska Highway, km 1087. In sequence installation began immediately on Mills, Crusher, Floatation and Concentrate components. Commissioning began towards end of September. Silvertips construction to commissioning in one construction season was an unprecedented time frame for a project of this magnitude. Project management by JDS Energy and Mining was essential in a challenging environment. All trades co-operated on scheduling and access to specific areas to facilitate the completion of project. It was good to see a strong presence from the “Kaska”. BPC Ltd. would like to thank the Kaska for hosting us in their territory. BPC Ltd. would also like to thank all other companies that contributed to the Silvertip Project and look forward to seeing you on the next job site. |
Sa Dena Hes
The Ancient Peoples Mountain BPC was responsible for the deconstruction of the Sa Dena Hes mine near Watson Lake, Yukon. The Lead/Zinc mine had been dormant for over 20 years. Brad Paddison Contracting Ltd. removed the mechanical components and supplied all the equipment and tooling to get the job done. The tear down began April 1st, 2014 and was completed early in July. All equipment was removed and shipped to a laydown yard in Watson Lake. The preparation for transportation to the Silvertip site is underway and the rebuild is slated to take place over the summer and through winter of 2015/16. Brad Paddison Contracting Ltd. would like to thank the Kaska for allowing us to work in their territory. We had the pleasure of working side by side with a number of their people and enjoyed doing so. |
